It changed my outlook...

I was so excited to do this challenge! My goal was to save up for a week-long trip to Acadia National Park. I do work and like to save my earnings, but I will admit to being a little bit of an impulse buyer. Sometimes, I take treating myself a little too far.

The first week flew by and I didn't even think about it. Which made me realize if I don't put myself in the position to be impulsive and surround myself with all of these extra things I won't buy them. I stayed clear of stores except for the local grocery store which is conveniently located next to a gas station.

The second week I went a step further and took a look around me and noticed all of the things I have that I have no need for and rarely ever use. I ended up donating a lot of clothes to the Salvation Army, selling my iPad, and just getting rid of all the things I know view as clutter. My life feels cleaner without them.

This challenge made my whole outlook change and I now consider myself to be a minimalist. I have done a lot of research and I believe that I am a happier and healthier person by sticking with the necessities. I recommend that everyone tries this and steps out of there comfort zone. In the end, you have nothing to lose, if anything a lot to gain!
