What Does Marketing Have To Do With This?

Brand & Marketing Coordinator at CNY Business Journal , Tomer Nesher, gives professional insight...

As a marketer, I know who my target audience is and I know a lot about them. For example; their age, relationship status, where they live, where they spend their money, what's important to them, etc. I know how to get them to buy what I'm selling. Many factors go into this such as packaging. The packaging has to be attractive to the consumers for them to want to buy it. It's also important for the price to be fairly reasonable. Sometimes putting it on sale draws more attention to the product. The location plays a role in appealing to consumers as well. When something is conveniently placed consumer is more likely to buy it and us marketers know that is true which is why stores always have those sections before check out with random last minute items to look at. Marketers are very smart at strategically selling products at specific spots. Lastly, brands are also very important. Our brains are wired to be drawn to brand names because people trust brands. A brand name has a reputation with an expectation to uphold. Trust is key.
